Sanne Vloet was born in the small town of Donkerbroek, Netherlands before she got the New York calling and inevitablyВ made a career shift to modeling. She had her big break at 19 years old, walking in an Oscar de la Renta New York Fashion Week show. Since then, it's been a whirlwind of print and runway gigs for the young model, who's worked with top designers including Versace, Chanel, Tom Ford, and Balmain, not to mention she's walked the Victoria's Secret show three years in a row.
In a matter of months, it was only natural for the young Dutch model to relocate to the fashion capital of the world. She initially moved to Chelsea but found herself constantly drawn by the gravitational pull of the quaint West Village a few streets below. A year ago, Vloet finally made the move to the cobblestone streets of the Village with no regrets: "The West Village has something really special to me," she told MyDomaine. "It doesn't feel like you are in a big city anymore. It has a certain ambiance which makes it feel like a real neighborhood. There is always a lot of life because of all the restaurants, little bars, and boutique stores. I am definitely a foodie, so this is the right place to be. I am never bored here!"
She recently showed us around her favorite spots in the West Village-a celebrity enclave in downtown Manhattan and an epicenter for Fashion Week. If you're planning a trip to the Big Apple, skip Midtown and head straight for the quaint townhouse-lined streets of the West Village instead. From cozy wine bars to the city's best ice cream, these are the local staples that Vloet swears by.
DineCourtesy of CafГ© Clover
Aria:В This wine bar is one of my favorite Mediterranean/Italian restaurants. You can order all small dishes so it'sВ a perfect date spot. Also, you can reserve a private dining room in the basement for a group of friends or a birthday celebration.
CafГ© Clover:В This is a very healthy American restaurant. They have amazing brunches and dinners. In the summer you can find a big outdoor terrace, which I love! Next to CafГ© Clover is a little market where you can buy food and products to take home.
Van Leeuwen:В This is by far the best ice cream in town. Try the vegan salted caramel ice cream. It's heaven!
Butcher's Daughter:В This is my favorite place for brunch in West village. They have the best avocado toast in New York.

Buvette: I love to sit at the bar of this French restaurant. It really feels like you are in a cafГ© in Paris. They also have a great brunch!
Anfora: This is a really nice place to go for a good glass of wine. The West Village is full of wine bars, but this is one of my favorite.

Smalls Jazz Club: To relax and drink, this jazz club is perfect for a Friday night out.
Bleecker Street:В I love walking around Bleecker Street and stopping at Jackson Square Park for a coffee.
Equinox Printing House:В This luxury gym has an amazing rooftop with a pool available. This is the perfect spot to cool down in the summer.
CarrГ© d'Artistes:В This is a small store and gallery where you can find all different kinds of posters and artwork. It's fun to go in and out.
Sisley Paris: On Bleecker Street, you find a lot of cute shops. I love to visit all the beauty stores like Sisley Paris and L'Occitane for soaps and creams. Sisley Paris offers the best facials.
